Paper weight equivalence table (approximate)

Use this table to determine equivalent points in weight specifications
other than US bond weight. For example, to determine the equivalent
of 20 lb. US bond weight paper in US cover weight, locate the bond
weight in the second column and scan across the row to the cover
weight (fourth column). The equivalent is 28 lb.

When using the paper output bin, the product supports basis

weights of 16 to 28 lb. bond (60 to 105 g/m

2

).

When using the front paper output, the product supports basis

weights of 16 to 42 lb. bond (60 to 157 g/m

2

).

Shaded areas indicate a standard weight for that grade.

Note

For best results, use the front paper output when printing heavier paper
(rows 9 to 13). See “Selecting the output path” in Chapter 4.
